I only lived in Baton Rouge for a year and it’s safe to say I tried a lot of new things. I’m obsessed with coffee so I had to try all the coffee shops, and by the time I left the city, I had tried every. Single. One.
These are my top 5 and why!
Lighthouse
Best espresso in town. Delicious brewed coffee from other countries, good food for a small meal or snack, and a great atmosphere for work or a catch-up with friends.
The Vintage
Pretty good espresso, good beignets (I tried their Christmas special peppermint flavor with chopped-up candy canes!) The atmosphere was the best for a coffee date; it kind of reminded me of a fancy cafe in Europe.
French Truck
Best iced coffee in town! Good food and a hipster vibe. It’s a good spot for catching up with friends or doing homework.
The Reve
Do you like your coffee spiked? The Reve is a bar too! You must try the gelato. There are fun, creative drinks with good espresso. It has a rocking, chill vibe for homework or just having a drink.
City Roots
Now this is a normal coffee shop vibe. You must get the Cafe de crema, it’s like a non-alcoholic coffee beverage. It’s a great place to eat a king cake with friends over some espresso or brewed coffee.
